Reversing plays a recording end to beginning. It is used for effects, for building risers and transitions in music, and occasionally for listening back to a passage from the other direction.
How to use it
- Load the audio file.
- Reverse it.
- Download the reversed recording.
Worth knowing
Reversal is exact and lossless in principle: reversing twice returns the original order. The re-encode on export is what costs a little quality, not the reversal itself.
Common questions
- Will speech be understandable?
- No. Reversed speech is unintelligible, which is precisely why it is used as an effect.
- Does it work on long files?
- Yes, but the whole recording has to be held in order to write it backwards, so long files need more memory.
