About Trim Audio

Cutting a recording down to the part you need removes the silence at the start, the shuffling at the end, and anything else that gets in the way. It is the first edit most raw audio wants.

How to use it

  1. Open the audio file you want to shorten.
  2. Set the start and end of the section to keep.
  3. Trim and save the result.

Worth knowing

Cutting exactly on a word tends to sound abrupt. Leaving a fraction of a second of room tone either side makes the edit far less noticeable to a listener.

Common questions

Can I cut a section out of the middle?
This keeps one continuous range. To remove a middle section, trim twice and join the two pieces.
Is the original file changed?
No. The trimmed audio is saved as a new file.
