About Rotate Image

Photographs taken with the camera turned sideways often display rotated, because orientation is recorded as a tag some software ignores. Rotating in quarter turns writes the correct orientation into the image itself.

How to use it

  1. Upload the image that is the wrong way up.
  2. Rotate by 90°, 180° or 270°.
  3. Download the corrected image.

Worth knowing

Quarter turns are lossless in principle — no pixels are resampled, only rearranged. A 90 or 270 degree turn swaps width and height, so a landscape photo becomes portrait.

Common questions

Why does it look right on my phone but wrong elsewhere?
Your phone is honouring the orientation tag and the other program is not.
Can I straighten a slightly tilted photo?
Not here — this handles quarter turns, which is what orientation problems need.
