About LinkedIn Text Formatter
LinkedIn strips most formatting from posts, which is why bold and italic text there is usually made from look-alike Unicode characters. Formatting a draft this way adds emphasis the platform would otherwise remove.
How to use it
- Write or paste your post.
- Apply the formatting you want.
- Copy the formatted text into LinkedIn.
Worth knowing
The characters only look like styled letters — screen readers announce them as unrelated symbols and search cannot match them. Use them sparingly, and never for whole paragraphs.
Common questions
- Will it display on every device?
- Mostly, though older systems and some fonts show boxes instead.
- Does it hurt accessibility?
- Yes, if overused. A few emphasised words are a reasonable trade; a fully styled post is genuinely unreadable to assistive technology.
